Use glass paint
Rubbing on dark furniture wax (Old English) could work like a stain.
I did one years ago using a Walmart $1 metallic gold paint. Used my fingers to "smear" it lightly on. I kept putting a little more on until I was satisfied with the result.

Use Glass Paint from Craft Store.
Maybe you could use Liquid Shoe Polish.......
Watered down paint would not be translucent so that would not be my choise. I would look for stained glass paint at a craft store.
Try antiquing medium. Watered down. Try dipping a paper towel and dabbing or wiping softly
Hi Pat, you can paint it with glass paint, Decoart. https://canada.michaels.com/en/decoart-glass-paint/10622522.html?r=g&cm_mmc=PLASearch-_-google-_-MICH_Shopping_CA_N_CatchAll_N_N_N_N-_-Generic&KPID=go_cmp-6523310328_adg-78089271573_ad-383778177991_pla-293946777986_dev-c_ext-_prd-10622522&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsburBhCIARIsAExmsu4xQ6Nw-VDwL2oZeMmQOitBR7ECTsWkTA2YT--fRt5Fplu5eIZCHtMaArlcEALw_wcB
Krylon makes a semi transparent wood stain.
I would make a strong cup of tea, then add Elmer's school glue and mix it well. Work with the mixture until you get the color you want the white fixture to be. Apply the mixture with a small foam brush, let dry. The glue will dry clear and should not block the light coming through the bowl.
