try some toothpaste
Not that I know of. Resist scrubbing off burnt on food with anything abrasive in the future. They make special scrubbers and non scratch cream for this. For really stubborn stains that will not come off safely, you can actually use oven cleaner. I don't leave it on very long, just long enough to loosen the burnt on food. Works great.
I use baking soda and damp paper towel, then rinse.
So you don't get scratches from scrubbing, use Cerama Bryte cleaner. It's a liquid cleaner, kind of thick, you put it on the cool stove top, let it sit a few minutes on really dirty spots, then scrub with a paper towel or the scrubber sponge they include in a kit. Then just rinse clean with a damp paper towel. Cerama Bryte is sold in Lowe's, Home Depot, etc., usually near the appliance sales department.
I've been using it daily for years, cleaning the stovetop last thing after the dinner clean-up, with good results. Especially don't let acidic stains sit for long (tomato sauce, vinegar, lemon juice), they can etch the stove top. The only scratch I have after years is from dragging a pot across the stove top, my fault. So I'll be trying MAAS, too.
