Below are some looks with a dark espresso vanity. Tan / persimmon, red or something light like light blue would be great walls colors. Something bright even if it is dark, would be a good choice. For the floors stick with something neutral, like a tan. You are going to live with them for a long time. Wit6ht eh bright color pick something that you can add a picture on the walls to pick up the color as well as a throw rug. Be sure to add some print by way of a shower curtain, or the rug. Even some print on some towels. If the bright walls are too much for you then pick a neural to match the floor - and add the color as an accent, in the rug, shower curtain and picture. Color though is a must. I would stay away from gray. You can do more with the espresso. Remember you are going to have this a long time. The espresso is easier to match and cover if it gets scratched. Have fun!
I must have tried 100 samples before deciding to go with a light gray. So I feel your pain! I decided to go all gray, and add the color with towels, etc. I painted my old cabinets and replaced the mirror and light fixture.
Here are some sites to help you see what expresso and gray vanity in bathrooms will look like, with tons of help from pictures.

If you have no natural light in there, you will want to go light. And keep in mind that light colors do not show every speck of dust as do the dark colors.
The medium gray with a light top sounds very pretty.
I would then go with the same family of gray and use a very light gray. They make tiles in light grays that are stunning.
On he floor, I would use a light gray tile with a dark grout (white grout gets so stained and dirty). You could even use a large size tile with some swirls in it...similar to some of that beautiful swirling marble. Marble is beautiful but gets very slick when wet!
Then add a touch of red and black, maybe a black vase with a couple of red silk flowers.

Just remember paint is easy to redo.... I paint for clients, and I get paint chips and tape them to the wall and have them live with it for a week before they decide. A good place to put them is on the wall next to the toilet.
Go to the paint section in your local hardware store. They have paint sample booklets that have colored photos of what color looks good with what color. They are a great help!
If it’s a small dark bathroom I’d stay with a white or yellow to keep the room as bright and giving the room a larger feeling! With white walls you can accent with any colors you like and be easy to tie other colors into the color on your vanity and counter top! White walls with black towel holders, etc could look nice With some grey towels too! Maybe paint trim your expresso vanity color too! Yellow walls would certainly brighten then room, there’s so many shades of yellow though! I know, just painted my bathrloom a shade of yellow! LOL my trim will be a gloss white! If your looking for as much light as possible use a glow white on your ceiling and it will really help reflect the light! You really can do a lot with color with accents and keeping color of the room a neutral or white color and it makes it easy to change colors of accents at anytime too! On larger rooms I rather go with other colors then white, but small rooms often look best keeping them white and simple to decorate with other color to liven up your small room
