I'd like to cover imperfections and Damaged Sheet Rock on walls, help!
What techniques can cover imperfections on walls after wall paper has been removed? Some of the paper from the sheet rock has also been torn from wall.
Hi Robin. You could do a knock down texture. You use a special spray gun to spray it on. I have repaired drywall after removing wallpaper. It took a lot of time but turned out good. I used dry wall compound and went over the places where the wall paper was taken off, and where the nail heads were exposed. Let it dry, sand and then do another coat. Keep doing this until it blends in well. The smother and the less compound you use will eliminate the amount of sanding. Some parts of the missing drywall did bubble up. Just let this dry and then peel off what you can and put on more coats. I then primed with a primer that I added sand to for texture. Good Luck!
I agree, use spackle or joint compound to fill in any holes. Don't use big globs because you'll only have to sand it off later. Once everything is dry and you sand everything, you may have to do a few spots again. I like to lightly feather the spots I fill with a damp sponge when I'm pretty much done.
Also be sure you get all of the glue off that wall, because it will show if you don't. Be sure to prime everything. Wishing you the best.

Nah, just skim coat it with joint compound and a 12" and 6" drywall taping knife, and then a couple coats of primer and your good to paint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cs3I4z0RhCM
I use a sparkling compound. I get it at Lowe's. They have a cloth screen mesh that has glue on one side to stick to the wall around the imperfections. You fill the screen in with sparkling and feather it out around the screen to completely cover. Let dry and sand it smooth. Paint it and viola..... you'll never know that it was there.
