I got this wall decor at thrift shop.

The point should be at the bottom. It is a shield.
I'd just highlight it a little by dry brushing bronze paint on the raised parts and leave the rest alone.
If you paint it, I would stick to black, I like the way it looks against your wall color. It really brings out the detail in it.
I love Rustoleum oil rubbed bronze. Its very dark almost black with up close a metalic sparkle.
If you should happen to want additional details to pop—-the rub rub and buff creams could easily do that over your base coat of spray paint.
And if you want some metallic highlights you can get gilder's wax/paste.... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_7?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=gilders+paste&sprefix=gilders%2Caps%2C270&crid=38S8R28E7ZLBE

Thank you all for your ideas.
I would leave it alone. It has character and would go with just about any decor.
