The glass is probably original and I can't afford new windows. I plan on cleaning them and then caulking but I wish I had a 2nd pane to keep out the cold air.
You can buy glass etching cream at most craft stores or on Amazon. It is really caustic so follow all directions carefully.
I would check into an etching solution you can buy at a hobby store such as Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
Rustoleum makes a "frost " spray paint. I also have used Contact paper. Especially where you want permanent, it should work great
Use a Brillo Pad or wire wool........
If you decide to use the contact paper, wet the glass first with a fine mist spray. Use a squeegee to apply the contact paper.
Go to Craft store and buy glass etch and some rubber gloves for your hands. Follow the instructions.
I can't speak for the permanence of the Rustoleum spray paint or Contac Paper but I can assure you that etching cream (there are a number of brands out there but I like ARMOUR ETCH for glass) is as permanent as they come! Just follow the directions to get a nice even coverage
