My daughter has the same proble. We took masonry bits and drilled holes to insert plastic and/or metal wall anchors for the screws. It depends on the weight of your item to be hung as to which one you’ll need. It’s a messy proces, but it worked!!

what about Command strips
If you go to your local home improvement store, they can help you with what you need for anchors and bits for a secure hold. Know how much weight the things you are putting up are, especially if some are heavy or are shelves that will also be holding weight, that way they won't fall off the wall and break or hurt someone sitting or walking nearby.
I love Command hooks!!! Different sizes for different weights.

You can! Drill masonry anchors in the wall with picture hangers.
Command has heavy duty hangers that will velcro the picture to the wall.
