you need a long thin metal pole to push thru the hose. I had the same thing occur, easy fix with the correct tool.
push it out with a broom stick, from both directions. Or, try using a fish hook or coat hanger with a prong to snag it and pull it out slowly. Many broken vacuums at Goodwill have a sock or underpants stuck in the tube.
A long board, length of thinwall, garden hose, length of PVC pipe etc. should push it through.
OK! It got packed in the hose. You'll have to pull it out since pushing didn't work. Make a hook out of a coat hanger or stiff wire. Tape it to length of board, thinwall, or PVC pipe. Hook onto the clothing and gently pull it out.
I finally got it out. I did not know that the ends came off. That solved the problem. Thank you.
