You can use a fine tipped marker. They are usually sold at art stores (or you can find them on-line). Good luck.
It depends on what you are tracing onto. If you are tracing onto paper you can use the marker as suggested above. If you are tracing onto wood you will want to use something that leaves a slight indentation.....and awl, xacto knife, screwdriver. If you are tracing onto glass make sure your finished work is on the side of glass you want exposed. Sometimes you might want to use markers, "lead" paint made with glue and acrylic paint or even etching material.
