I used Waverly brand chalk paint, from Walmart $6 a bottle in the craft department. Spray the fabric down with water using a spray bottle. Then mix ½ water and ½ chalk paint and apply to the wet, clean surface. It will go on thin. Allow to dry completely (overnight might be necessary), put a fan on the chair, if possible. Repeat another thin coat after each one dries. It may take 3-4 coats or more – just be patient. You can lightly sand with fine grit sandpaper in between each dry coat, if it is rough. After the fabric is completely covered with the paint – you apply wax (Waverly brand is fine), rub it in and buff it out. Let it dry and your chair is done!
