Oh my- they must have heated it up before removing it and it changed the elasticity (stretchiness) of the film. Try solvents designed to remove stickers, like WD-40 or goo gone. Do NOT use anything abrasive, it will scratch. Here are some ideas:

Last resort- you could use a metal scraper, like they have for glass, but be extremely careful as you could scratch the finish.
WOW! I agree with Fix it Jen. They didn't take the film off when they used it. Try using a blow dryer on high heat and move over the film and use something like a spatula to scrape it off. You can even try running the cooker at low heat to soften the film. Once it's removed, keep you fingers crossed, and cooled Goo Gone or WD40 will remove any adhesive residue.
goo gone.
Get one of those scrapers with a single-edge razor blade in it, Dollar Tree or any hardware store has them, heat up the film with a hair dryer and scrape off. Hold it a 45 degree angle for good results.
Warning!!!!! Be extremely careful with using WD40 around any heat source. WD40 is way more flammable then ever gasoline! So be sure you clean any area where you use WD40 very well before turning on any electrical device. Personally I’d recommend not using WD40 on electronics at all! But I’ve already seen what WD40 does when it hits even a tiny heat source and it wasn’t pretty! Actually scared the dickens out of me!
i’ve had some like that before where I didn’t notice the plastic and it got stuck on. I’ve always been able to get under it carefully with the point of a sharp knife on a edge to start getting it where I can grab it with my finger and then it usually comes right off.
Put some dish soap on your finger, spread it around on the part you need to clean, let it sit maybe 10 -15 minutes use an old credit card or plastic scraper to loosen the plastic. Dawn works good for this. May have to repeat depending how stuck on it is.
Get some Goo gone at Home Depot it'll take it right off
Try heating the film with a blow dryer. I use this method all the time to remove price tags and stubborn film that is sometimes attached to new items. Keep the heat on it and try to lift an edge. Once you get an edge lifted keep the heat going on low as you slowly peel the film back. Goo gone will remove any residue of glue or vinegar can be useful for sticky residue too.
Goo Gone or Oops. Both easily find at Home Depot or Target. Be patient cause these have to sit on the adhesive for a bit in order to break it down for removal.
Try solumel. It is simply amazing! Got permanent marker out of my white bedspread, and adhesives off my washer!
