Can I do anything to lessen the chalkiness of flat acrylic finish?

I used "flat" acrylic finish when I should have used a "semi gloss"!! I stirred the finish in the can and applied it as instructed, but it has dried with a chalk like appearance. I was told to wait 4-6 weeks for this look to dissipate but it hasn't. This acrylic was used over stain on pine cabinets. Is there anything that can be done so it doesn't look "chalky"?

You will need to paint or spray an acrylic finish over it it will also help with wiping it down.
Wax them a couple of times.
