You can buy extension rods that lower the fan to an average height. It does not matter if the ceiling is angled. The fan will hang straight due to the ball connection in the ceiling that makes it level.

Sal is correct.... we have angled ceilings.... the mounting bracket will allow the fan to hang level.... and you can use an extension if you want to bring it down into the room more.

When we got our ceiling fan it came with several attachments so we could lower it to whatever height we needed (almost).
Yes, Sal is right - the downrod connects at the angled ceiling but hangs straight down. The fans in the pics are hung two stories high.
There are fan extensions available for this purpose.
