You may want to do a little sanding first, then paint away!
yes
years ago we did this, use a cleaner like TSP first, the pattern such as lines or stressed dents will still be visible but the paint will help lighten up the room.
Yes, you can paint, but you'll still be able to tell it's paneling. If you don't want to see and clean all those lines, you can either remove it or put 1/4 inch drywall over it. Then you can paint it whatever color you want.
Yes it can. I painted mine and my family room went from 1970’s to a really cute farmhouse feel. Make sure to clean the paneling well and caulk any corner edging. I lightly sanded and primed mine. Fair warning - painting in all those lines, especially at the ceiling can be a real pain, bu tits well worth it.
Hi Diane, Yes. You can paint over paneling. If you would like the room to be brighter, paint with a light color. Mirrors will also help to lighten a room. They reflect the light. Hope these ideas help you. Good luck.
Yes you can paint over the paneling. Go to your home hardware store to buy the special paint. A friend lightened heir paneling years ago and it came out beautifull.
