A friend brought a meal to my home and set the bowl down(hot) on my table. How can I repair it? With a marker that is used for wood tables? The color of the table is mahogany

Try Restore - A- Finish. About $9.00 a can. Buy at hardware stores or Home Depot. Wipe on with a sift cloth, wipe off with second cloth, then polish with furniture polish. Wear gloves. Comes in a variety of colors to match woods. It will remove white spots, and cover scratches. I have used it dozens of times.
