Bissell has a special foam product available for furniture upholstery. It works very well. Just make sure you do not over saturate the fabric. After using the spray sponge the area off with a clean dry cloth to make sure there is no excess moisture as it will take longer to dry. Do it on a dry day.
You might try sprinkling cornstarch (kitchen product) onto the soiled areas and let it "set" for an hour or so, then vacuum away. Hope this helps. If it doesn't, then resort to commercial heavy-duty cleaners.
If you rent a Rug-Doctor they have an upholstery attachment that works real good. Or just Woolite Upholstery Cleaner in a spray can for small clean-ups.
Vacuum really well. Use foam upholstery cleaner , but scrub with a rough washcloth. Let dry over night. Then vacuum again.
