I used chalk paint to re-do all my kitchen cabinets. I actually love to work with it. I haven't had any problems since that time and it has been almost three years since I painted them. The only nicks in the paint were put there by my dogs, so I cannot fault the paint. If you like the look and want to try, you can always repaint over it, but you will never know till you try it.

Do not use Chalk paint on anything that gets a lot of wear, or where you may need to scrub. It can be a disaster.

Chalk paint is fun, comes in many colors, is super easy to use and you get instant gratification with it. I paint furniture professionally. When chalk paint is requested, I ALWAYS follow up with either a chalk wax sealer or a water based urathane. I also tell my clients that they need to let the piece cure for a few weeks before placing heavy, wet or textured items on the surface. It' a common sence thing.
