If you do spraypaint them, you might want to consider also spraying a clear sealer. Rustoleum and Krylon make them.

You can even try a fabric spray paint to help ensure it stays in tact longer.
Use spray paint for fabric for the best results - remember several light even coats is preferable over 1 heavy coat.
Hi Carol, normal spray paint doesn't work to well. It tends to block the light and go on unevenly. Florist spray paint works way better.
