grays are nice
I would take out some of the tables... to give more room... remove table behind the yellow chairs consider a shelf under the pic. and use that table in place of the tv table... and hang tv above so you can put your decor on it. that way you can move the chairs back a bit. the kitchen back splash is an easy fix.. they have new product that sticks right over the existing tile...called Smart tiles installed them 4 yrs ago and still look great..

Gray is definitely in right now. Maybe different shades of it. It looks like you have a lot of brown in your house. That rug looks like it has gray in it or maybe it's a blue? The gray colors would match your kitchen.
I think the wall colors you have are fine. The rooms are nice - but what is missing is a "wow" color. Think of a nice suit, with a plain blouse, it still needs a scarf or beads in a bright color to give it impact. Think orange, persimmon or a deep cold - for pillows, candles, a painting on the wall maybe an area rug.

Does the room feel warm to you? South facing rooms get most of the day's sun, and with this warm color on the walls, you get real warmth plus "visual" warmth. Look at the off-white color that outlines the triangles in your rug. I would match paint to that color. Then, you need drapery. Drapes MUST be lined, and navy with large, soft yellow flowers with olive green leaves would be perfect. Drapes should not cover the glass; they should only come to the edge of the glass. If you can't find them, call a decorator or look online. Drapes will MAKE your room and are worth the money. Rod-pocket panels are fine -- but go at least 4" above the windows with them. Order a toss pillow or two in the same fabric while you're at it.
Maybe some deep navy accents.
