I would buy a miniature easel and use it to display a special piece of artwork (a favorite photo or child's drawing), making it a centerpiece that you won't want to fill with "catch all" stuff.
Put a Vented door on it (like pounded tin or roll top slats) and make it your bread cupboard.
Or
Put an outlet in it and make it your toaster or coffee bay.

I would look for a lazy Susan that will fit here and use it storage for "seasonings for the table" cubby...No more "where's the salt and pepper, the lemon pepper or the Tobasco Sauce!
Walmart has a variety of styles and sizes and even the hardware to make a custom one!
