I want to cover up or paint my old Formica counter tops in the kitchen
My counter tops are old and ugly but I cannot afford new ones...any ideas how I can paint these or...?
you can paint them pretty much with anything you want the trick to the longevity to them is going to be in what you choose to seal them with and since you Arte dealing with wood my suggestion would be to not skimp on this step and its going to cost a bit of money depending on how much area your talking about but assuming its typical space your talking about plan to spend about 100 on a good epoxy resin to seal it . I would suggest something like bar coat which is basically designed for that type of application and fairly easy to use its 50 coats per one application so you only need one coat . do a small board to practice on and buy some inexpensive rain gutters about 8 bucks to attach to the underside of the counters to catch the drips the stuff is damn near impossible to get off otherwise you will have a mess . its important ant to follow the directions exactly for the best results and give it time to cure and this should hold up for years.
