Polyurethane or exterior acrylic for painted surfaces
exterior marine grade varnish is the correct answer
This mural has been in our yard many years. The ship part since 2011 and the other part maybe almost 20 years. Acrylic paint. No poly or other coating. We live in Maine.
You can use a marine grade varnish or polyurethane. Helmsman is a good brand
Your's are playful and colorful and will be o.k. esp if you can bring them inside in the winter. BTW. I did not do our mural, my husband is an artist.
If they are smallish you can use outdoor epoxy to protect them
These are beautiful, A outdoor matte finish or clear coat would work great. Polyurethane is another option if you want a shiny finish.
