I personally would try a higher percentage rubbing alcohol (not the 50% type in $ stores) in a inconspicuous area first. It is my go-to for paint dried paint splatters on everything.
Rubbing alcohol is also in some hardwood floor cleaners because it dries fast and doesn't damage the floor like a high water content can. I would be hesistant to try a solvent first, as it could ruin the topcoat and make it gummy.
My mother and I were both told by different companies/installers/refinishers NOT to use Murphy's oil soap, because it can also damage the top coat, and cause hazy floors.
