I'm painting a door and one side of the door is one color & the other side of the door is another because they're in different colored rooms. Example: Our door to the dining room from the kitchen: kitchen trim is blue, dining room trim is sage.) Well, my question is this: what color do you paint the skinny side of the door (the one that meets the frame when you close the door.)???? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

    Same as the doorframe

I painted one side of a bedroom door to match the bedroom and left the rest of the door (including the edges) the color of the hall. In your case you must make a decision, or paint the edges in a blending, accent, white or ivory color. If you have one color as an accent in both rooms that would be a good color for your edge. Perhaps you have apple accents in your kitchen and red in your dining room has red in the curtains.

Which side of the door shows when it's OPEN? That's the color I would paint the edge of the door. If the door swings into the dining room and the kitchen side (blue) shows when it's open paint the edge blue. If it goes the other way, into the kitchen, and the sage side shows paint it sage.
