I have a plastic chair mat under my computer desk that the edges are curled and won't lay flat. Have been unable to bend them back as the plastic is hard

Remove the old silver and place a very thin mirror behind it, it will look brand new. Years ago I was told that this is an antique restorers trick I did it to the mirrors on a couple antique mantles they turned out beautiful!
