there are paints designed for rads, other areas that get warm. it may take some looking.
Not so! Rustoleum metal paints are oil based and probably what you need.
There is oil based paint available ... you just have to find the right paint store.... or you could use an automotive paint.... from your local auto parts store.... if you are planning on putting it back in the car.... use a high temperature engine paint.
Is it a hot water radiator or steam? https://thecraftsmanblog.com/how-to-paint-an-old-radiator/
Steam.... I would use Rustoleum High Heat Spray paint.... https://www.rustoleum.com/product-catalog/consumer-brands/specialty/high-heat-spray/
or Stove Bright has more colors.... https://media.woodstoves-fireplaces.com/data/Image/Forrest/ForrestPaintColors.pdf?rev=14AE
Another is linseed oil paint that you have to brush on.... non-toxic.... https://www.solventfreepaint.com/linseed_paint.htm
careful here. use spray cans or apply very thin paint: it easily cracks. Best to put a box around it
Thank you to all of you!
