hello! i have seen several methods to paint laminate furniture, different types of paint, and so on...would like to skip sandng, but really prefer best results rather than easier...how has painting laminate stood up on frequent use items, like kitchen cabinets, thank you

Chalk paint works well on laminate furniture. I've had the best luck starting with a primer coat before the chalk paint. You can make your own chalk paint using calcium carbonate powder mixed with any latex paint - in any color. Here is the recipe:
To make one cup of DIY chalk paint:
Once the chalk paint is dry you will want to seal it with a water based sealer. Varathane crystal floor sealer is very strong and can be used on just about anything chalk painted.
