Hi Teresa have you tried baking soda and white vinegar ? Baking soda first then pour in vinegar. .let sit for about fifteen minutes. .then hot water. .I have a double sink so I do both sides. .Good luck. .
Pour 1/4-1/2 cup of baking soda into it and just a little water. Let it sit for an afternoon. Then use as usual, that should freshen it a lot. Or use lemon juice the same way. Either will work!
My favourite is baking sofa let it sit and then vinegar . Wash it all down with hot water...if it’s a garbage disposal then throw lemon peels into it.

Hi Teresa, I had a problem of an odor coming from my disposal side for a long time - tried EVERYTHING - nothing helped. Finally, I heard that you also need to clean the underside of the rubber flap of the disposal. (Which makes sense) IT WAS GROSS!!! I was so embarrassed. I’m a clean freak - this was disgusting. I used a thin wire brush with Soft Scrub, so to not damage the rubber. It worked!!! Now I keep an old toothbrush handy and I clean it weekly. Hope this helps!! Have a fantastic day!
Baking soda and vinegar together should work. Lemon also is good. Hope this helps.
The baking soda and vinegar works. Scrubbing out the rubber around the garbage disposal opening in the sink is also good. I don't use the vinegar directly on the garbage disposal side (might cause some damage to the metal parts, check your manual), but it will flow over. Don't forget to do your bath tubs, showers and bathroom sinks too. To get the hottest water heat some on the stove or in the microwave.
Try the "disposer cleaner pods" sold in big box stores. The home version is two lemons, cut in half, with a tablespoon of borax (found in the laundry detergent aisle) with a couple handfuls of ice cubes. They crease enough friction and grinding to make the lemons and borax do the cleaning. Mom used it once a week and it worked. Cheap and smell like lemons!
Try a little bleach over night. Also put some lemons or lime pieces down the garbage disposal to freshen it up.
