Marble? REAL marble?? why do this if it is not cracked or broken. I would suggest instead to TAKE OFF the marble and use a solid board instead. that way you can stain it or paint it. Marble is really too expensive to just paint. Sell it and with the proceeds, buy the table you want.
Rust-Oleum makes a spray paint that can give a mirror like reflection but I strongly recommend NOT to paint marble. I agree with the previous advice to remove and replace it. Marble is high value and in high demand.
If you plan to use glass and want to paint it. Make sure it's really clean. Paint the underside of the glass with mirror effect. The surface will be the mirror. Then paint over the mirror effect with flat black spray pain to protect it.
