love this site it is my entertainment! Log slices to make outdoor snowmen, want to paint white but want it to last and not peel off. I have baked them at 200 for 2 hours to kill insects.

Rustoleum makes a great waterproof paint. A friend of mine tried it on her outdoor furniture and said it worked well and didn't peel. This sounds like a cute project would love to see it finished!

Hi Zeb; In a nice covered weatherproof area, put the log slices together with a permanent, exterior silicone; let dry completely. Sand the slices and glue (if any oozed out) until nice and smooth, then use a damp cloth to remove all dust, dirt, &/or sawdust off the slices. Let air dry. Using a paintbrush and Exterior Rust-Oleum 2X paint with primer that can be used on all materials, paint the slices as desired - i.e. snowmen, Santa - let dry. Give them a 2nd coat of paint if needed, let dry completely. Then, use clear, Marine Spar Polyurethane Varnish to seal the entire piece or pieces, let dry and put on a 2nd coat. This is the sealer that is used on boats, it even keeps the salt water from peeling off the paint. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
