If you want color or to lighten the inside you can achieve the same effect by installing wallpaper or fabric instead of painting. I lightly tack mine so that I can change it when the mood strikes. You can even change it for the seasons. Also its a lot less messy and you don't have to wait for the paint to dry.
Hello, you would have to lightly sand if it has a shiny finish then wipe down with damp cloth. I would put on a primer and let dry. You can use any kind of acrylic paint. Just pick whatever color you like. Make sure to let the paint dry for 24 hours before you put on an acrylic sealer. Make sure to let the sealer dry well also and that is about all there is to it. If you have any other questions about it we would be happy to answer them.
Hello again, I have pretty much always used Shermin Williams. They have what they call "color to go". It is 1 quart but they advertise it as a sample. I find that is all the paint I need for a furniture project. They usually have a coupon for 30% off which makes the color to go about 5.00. It covers really well and leaves a nice finish. If you get it in gloss you don't even have to seal it. You can if you want to for extra durability.
