How does a HRV system work?
We have a dehumidistat in our new home and have no experience with it and how to use it! Does it add humidity, take out humidity and how do we set it? Thanks

It's a dehumidifier which means it takes the moisture out.
Kathleen,. Call an electrician, or Google this. Call the makerof this product. You should have been given a Manuel. Aloha.
HRV systems are Heat Recovery Ventilation.. They remove old stale air from the home while recycling the heat back into the home.
If you have a model, manufactruer number you can Google it and may be able to get an online manual for it.

Hi Kathleen,
I'm Linda. If it's connected to a dehumidifier it will remove moisture from the air. If it's connected with the thermostat, it might be a humidistat which controls and reads moisture in the air. In the winter our homes get dry. Adding moisture can help us feel warmer and prevent dryness in our bodies and also our furniture. If wood gets too dry it can start to crack. In the summer a humidistat will sense the moisture in the air and turn on the A/C when it's too high, therefore making you feel cooler. Since you don't have a manual, I'd suggest trying to find one online. Use your search feature and enter any information that you can find on the unit. Manufacturer's name, model number and/or style. So enter that information then add 'manual' as the last word when you search. I hope this will help you! Wishing you the best.
