How can I make my own 'sizers' to reduce ring size?
I have many inexpensive rings that I used to wear when my knuckles were very swollen. At present, my knuckles are smaller & those rings fall off. I priced ring sizers & the jeweller quoted $20 for each. Is there a way of making some other than the old fashioned way of winding string around the ring?

you can buy ring guards that fit inside the rings .Maybe at Walmart .
wrap jewelry wire around the band. (tuck it in so it does not jab you) you can perhaps find sizers at AC Moore or Michaels in the jewelry dept.
