Sally on Jul 09, 2014I'm not sure if this addresses your question but no one is better than, at least, my Sherwin-Williams. I took my cabinet door and couldn't tell the new stain from the old. It took a couple weeks but was well worth it. They were more particular than I. Great price too. Also, someone who builds furniture professionally (in our rural community, in their barns) may be helpful. We are also fortunate to have many Amish in our area. They are meticulous in their work. Best of luck with such a valuable pieces.Helpful Reply

Nancy Hetrick on Jul 09, 2014The barn siding is on our walls in the basement. The damage is a result of water coming in during a bad storm. Sherwin Williams didn't have any ideas for me either.Helpful Reply

Sally on Jul 10, 2014A Google search turned up two of suggestions: " diluted bleach (also on Chlorox site) on a q-tip up and down over stain. This won't completely eliminate it but will make it far less noticeable", another site suggested a diluted solution of TSP. I searched under: removing water stains from barnsiding, ignoring those for furniture. Other wording may give you other suggestionsHelpful Reply

Nancy Hetrick on Jul 14, 2014@Sally I Googled this and got 3 suggestions. One was using mayonnaise, letting it set overnight, and then use a sponge to wipe it off. Another one was the diluted bleach method, and the 3rd one was using mouthwash and letting it set overnight. Haven't had the chance to try any of them yet, but will let you all know if any of them work. If anyone else has some suggestions, I'd appreciate knowing what you tried. Sally, what is TSP? I've not heard of this.ThanksHelpful Reply
