How do I pick the correct two colors for my kitchen cabinets?
I want to give my kitchen cabinets a little change. I love the two colors I'm seeing but not sure what colors I should pick. I have wood floors and I have decorated it in a patriotic theme.

Fran: go pick some (neutral best -- whites maybe with patriotic theme) colors... tape them to cabinets... look at them in different light, at different times of the day. Live with them for a week or so... take down those that don't look good... you'll end up with a couple that look great! Pick your favorite.
I like to get a number of the same color of samples, cut them up and tape together --- for larger swatch.
Navy for the bottom cabinets would be lovely, with white uppers!
I would do white on the cabinets and if you have an island, go for a darker color such as black on it.
Take one of the cabinet doors to the paint department of the home improvement store and ask them to select paint/stains and other finishes and application tools that will work for your kitchen. They have the best selection, the most up-to-date materials and most important, the most informative sales staff to get you what you need for a professional job.
White is considered an "empty slate" allowing you to be creative in the kitchen. If you don't have a lot of lighting in your kitchen white is most suitable for your cabinets. Use either a deep red or navy blue for your walls. These darker colors will make the room "pop" and look actually larger. Counter top colors can be done in the same as your floor. So if you a hard wood floor go with a brown tone or even black. Accent your room with "patriot: colors. IE: towels, rugs, appliances, etc.
