I love to use finger nail polish in water. Just dip the plate, but you should not eat off a plate done like this. I use 3 colors like pink, red, and gray for example for mine.

Paint it white then you could use a tiny thin stick dip in paint color run from one corner too posit corner then keep putting lines then do grey lines beyween
