How would I paint laminate cabinets or older Formica cabinets?
I have a small kitchen and would love to brighten it up a little bit thank you very much in advance

The secret is to use a good bonding primer LIKE THIS ONE. It will bond the paint to the smooth surface of formica. Once the primer is dry, you can go ahead and paint it with 2 coats of latex for a good durable finish. My site Simple Decorating Tips has other DIY & decorating projects too.
I would use chalk paint. I've made my own, a mixture of 3/4 paint and 1/4 drywall compound - works like a charm! We used this on our kitchen cabinets.
There is a laminate paint kit available.
