Buy a piece of poster board, fold it in half, then cut out half of the heart. When you unfold it one half will be an exact copy of the other side. Now you can trace it onto the Bristol Board.

A heart is a square with a half circle on 2 adjacent sides.

    1) Draw your square in a corner, no larger than 2/3 the shorter dimension of the board or template material. Make sure the sides are perpendicular and equal.

    2) Measure 1/2 the side of the square and use that as the center point to draw your half circles on the two sides you drew.

    3) Cut along the half circles.

I would cut it out first with newspaper or poster board. Fold the paper in half and draw it out so both sides are even.
