How do I gather a t shirt neck?

Not sure I understand but if you want a stitch that will gather a neckline of a T-shirt, I would use a long running stitch on my machine then gather it myself to fit the neckline or band of the neck. Hope this helps. Have you googled this? Happy sewing.

I have stitched several T-shirts in the past...mostly because the neckline was too low or seemed to want to gap open.

Most T-shirts have a binding strip around the edge. I always stitched in that strip if it is not too thick, or just below that binding strip so the stitches would be hidden.

With any stretch fabric, you have to "tie off" each stitch. Tie off the stitch, then run the threat through the inside of the binding strip, come out where you want the next stitch, make the stitch, tie it off ...then repeat.

Keep in mind you can only gather a small amount but you can tighten a T-shirt by doing this procedure up over the shoulder too...this will tighten the neckline a little more. Do a little at a time as you can always add more.
