Picking a paint color is such a personal choice. For a bedroom I like colors that make me feel relaxed--nothing bold or bright. I always pick out muted blues and greens or gray hued blues and greens. Arlene, there are so many things to consider. Do you want your bedroom to be light and bright or darker and moody? Totally your choice. I would suggest a flat finish rather than a shinier one though. Best to look online at different bedrooms and you'll soon get the feel of the ones you love and those you don't then do something similar to the ones you're most attracted to. And, it's only paint....if you really don't like what you've chosen, you can always repaint.
Visit your paint store and browse the paint chips to see what appeals to you. You can eliminate some colors and narrow it down just by doing this. Also, Home Depot has an app that shows you what a color will look like in your specific room. Simply snap a pic of your room, choose the color you think you like, then apply. You can play around with the colors until you find exactly what you like. I found it very helpful when I chose room paint.
