How. But wait. I have found a great product for the DIYer. Water based turpentine. It is great. It is amazing. If you are using water based paint. This magic lotion cleans paint rollers and paint brush bristles to their factory settings (almost). I am very impressed. Check with your hardware shop for availability..........

I am in Australia, so if you are, head to Bunnings Hardware. Here in Aus, one product is called Bondall Turps (alternative to Turpentine). Try YouTube, there may be a reference to it.
I've never heard of water-based turps but it sounds interesting
