Hello Not done it but imagine could be done by painting steps a dark colour and then adding some white to some of the colour and stipple it all over. Stipple other colours to to get the required effect. Practice the idea on a piece of card first so you are happy with the sort of result you will get.
Easily! We used Fusion Mineral paint to paint the steps the use painter's tape to tape off the area you want to be the rug. Paint the rug color, remove the tape, then you can add details with another color.
