Janet koons on Jul 30, 2014Holly Hobby has a large selection of knobs and are having a good sale right now on all of them. I just came from that website. Cool knobs are awesome. Dark wax for darker, as dark or as lighter dark as you like. If too much dark wax, add some more clear. Also can make a light glaze in any color, using the artisan gilding paints (of any color) and mineral spirits. I got my gilding paints at same store that I got the ASCP. I think that process might be a little advanced, but it IS beautiful. Do you have a local store that sells ASCP that can give you assistance like this? We have one here that's always willing to answer questions. Hope that's of some help.Helpful Reply

Janet koons on Jul 30, 2014Just remember, as I am learning, to not be nervous about messing up or anything because we can go back and fix anything. That helps me not be nervous (most of the time - heh).Helpful Reply

Sharon on Sep 02, 2015I'm a newbie to ASCP also but after watching a bunch of videos and talking to an experienced painter I've heard that after you put clear wax in and you want a darker finish toucan add dark wax which enhances the color.Helpful Reply
