I have not found a paint technique to look like wood, that really looks like wood. I would put a real wood, can be any kind, In my friends bathroom we used old pallet wood. We cleaned the wood, cut into lengths that we wanted then color washed different colors and depths to make look old. Turned out very nice. She has dark (black) in bathroom and it is small, so we used gray, gray and white, and just white. Add a little water to your paint and wash on like you would a stain. You can keep playing with the colors till you get what you like. Happy DIY'ing

There are specialty paint rollers to make paint look like wood, but I have never used them, so I can't speak to how well they work. Seems worth a try, though.
