I have a lot of chunks of grout missing. How do I prep the grout to accept new grout? Do I have to take all of the old grout out?

Purchase a grout removal tool., Then dig out all the old, replace with new, and seal. I don't think you will be able to match new grout with old if you don't replace it all.
Yep! Old grout need to come out for new grout to go in. Sometimes a flat screwdriver can dig the old grout out.
