How do you treat treated wood so that you can paint the wood?
I have 2 porches made from treated wood. I want to paint them so the color I choose will match the color of my house as close as possible. Right now I've painted one porch but the painting has to be done every year because the paint peels off because of the weather. I am using a best quality paint.

Can you paint 70’s style wood grain laminate cabinets?
These cabinets have good boxes or frames they are just ugly. The doors are plain with no molding.
Hello Virginia. You can buy oil based stain in many different colors. You may be able to find one to match your paint color. If you sand off all the old paint and clean the porch floors well you can use the oil based stain. It will not bubble or peel and needs to be redone about every 3-4 years vs every year. I sanded all the paint products off of my two decks and changed to using a oil based stain. Best decision ever!
If your initial painting was done before it fully cured, that is your issue. I've heard that it's anywhere from 3 months to a year. You can sand, primes with Original Kilz, and then paint if you decide to go with paint. I would highly recommend RustOleum Enamel paint if you can get it in a color that works for you.
thanks for your suggestion.
Raw wood must be primed first. I use Kilz, but it must first be fully dried out
My porches are made from treated wood. I have always made sure the wood is dry before painting. I'm thinking because the wood is treated this is why the paint doesn't stay on for any length of time. Thank you for replying to my question.
