Can you tell us what it is called. A roof sealant is usually rubberized to keep out water. If you want to put on driveway read label or contact the manufacturer whose name is on the label. If you want to add sand to paint you can sprinkle it on while it is wet. I did this on my front porch using outdoor enamel paint to keep it from getting too slippery in the winter. I added another coat to keep the sand in place and provide traction on the path from the edge of the porch to the front door. Is that why you want to add sand?
You can also stir sand into paint. Keep stirring.
There is special sand to mix in paint. Not regular sand. Will just clump up. Roof sealant is rubber/tar based for roofs and not good for driveways.
Check the label but, I doubt you can use it on a driveway.
