I love using concrete/masonry dye/stain. It permeates the concrete, never chips, never peels & comes in any colors you desire. Some brands come in various opacities.
For my faux finishes, I use a hand sprayer, sponges, stippling brushes, stencils, and rag rolling.
I stenciled a design on my front porch floor with concrete paint that I got from Michaels craft store. It's held up pretty well for years now. If you need to touch up a spot here or there you can do it simply with the same paint.
Sherwin-Williams sells a concert and porch paint that has worked well for me.
