We need a fun activity for 4th of July. Can I use rite dye to tye dye tee shirts. I have 38 children and grand children.

If you have the powdered dye, you might want to mix it into little squirt bottles ahead of time. If you don't have a bunch of little squirt bottles already, I know they sell big packs of bottled tie dye at Walmart or Joann Fabrics or Michaels. You just need to add water and shake. They're pretty cheap, and you can also use a coupon at Joann's or Michaels. Make sure you have enough gloves for everyone, and if you do end up using the powdered Rit dye, make sure everyone is careful not to inhale any of it. If you get one of the tie dye packs, just mix up all of your dye ahead of time.
Keep in mind this will be a messy project for that many people. 100% cotton works best.

Another option would be fabric markers. Might be a bit less messy and less chance of getting dye on clothes.
