How to remove battery corrosion from portable emergency radio?
How to clean battery corrosion from portable emergency radio? Like a lot of people probably do, I put away last years emergency band radio without removing the batteries! Now I have a mess to clean up! What should I use to remove the powdery corrosion from the battery compartment and terminals?

I've had that happen on things too. What I did is first put on rubber gloves to prevent getting anything on my hands, and lay out newspaper to work on. Then after loose stuff is wiped out, I've used fine steel wool to clean the terminals. Worked great.
Yes, protect yourself first. If you can't get to the terminals with steel wool, wrap some fine grit sandpaper around a pencil and use that. (I wouldn't use any grit lower than 220).
Hi, Rusty!
A small wire bristle brush can be used to remove the corrosion, as well. I hope this helps!
